So I’ve got a notebook, with a couple of pages of notes and sentences I’d like to squeeze into my personal statement. The overall content of it I feel like I can manage, but how on earth am I meant to start it off?

Every sentence I come up with either makes me sound mediocre, or at the other end of the scale, like a prat. 

I hate the fact that the rest of my life is pretty much going to be dictated by this A4 page of writing. Yeah, there’ll be my portfolio, but the starting point to whether I get an offer for an interview, and then an offer for a place at a university, is my personal statement. Who I am, my personality, my passion for the subject, my potential as a student, is all being judged, just from this. 

Make or break I guess!
